Peace be with us. Saturday 7PM.

We are being swamped with common sense, memories and friends even singing to us in emails.  I am finished with fear…the “what will be; will be” attitude is with us.  We know that God will be with us and that we will make it through.

Our friend, Nancy Kennedy, from Maine and Sanibel just sent us the words to an Oscar Hammerstein song that was running through her head….” I am sitting here alone listening to the tragic T.V.  And this song is going through my head so I thought I would sing it to you. Thank you
“When you walk through a storm hold your head up high and don’t be afraid of the dark. At the end of the storm is a GOLDEN SKY and the sweet Silver song of a lark. Walk on through the WIND….Walk on through the RAIN Tho’ your DREAMS be Tossed and blown.
Walk on , walk on with HOPE in your heart.   And you’ll never walk alone.
You’ll never walk alone.”

Thanks to all of you, who have given us messages of hope and peace…it’s working.

Can you imagine what these Black Skimmers are doing today?  They have spent the summer here, growing a family on Ring Island right outside our window.  They took off to fly south last week…right toward Southwest Florida.  We think they are the same ones we see on Sanibel’s Lighthouse beach or in the Ding Darling Preserve nearby.  Hope they stay safe, too.

Our house is the middle one…Scotts on the right and our friends, the McNamaras from Tullamore, Ireland, on the left.

All the best….and the prayers will be helpful for the duration.

  • Thank you for your inspiration my friends, Chip and Nancy, and Nancy. I am holed up with several families on a great parcel of land just west of the airport. Was at one time the Ft. Myers Rod and Gun Club – mostly a social club in the 70s and 80s we are all comfortable and enjoying hreat companionship. Eleven people, 3 dogs, 2 cats, a snake, and several lizards. Feasted on venison stew. Best shelter ever. Kind of wish I was still on island, but am so glad not to be. Love to you all.

    • That’s so wonderful for all of us to hear. Please post on your Facebook page, so people don’t think you’re still wandering our beach. Love you, Bruce.

  • Song from Carousel. Understand the birds we’re watching The Weather channel and decided to leave Southern Fl. Hope they didn’t go to Tampa. Best of this, you guys are safe. R
