Lake McDonald wondrous, but..wifi still lousy. Happy Labor Day.

We traveled the Going to the Sun Road for 50 miles of twists and fog and 38 degrees across the Continental Divide on Sunday. Traversed the Glacier National Park from east to west entrances.  Here’s a fast version of a few miles through burned forests & majestic mountains. And later, when we followed the Red Bus.

 Red Bus shots.
The Lodge is old with tiny rooms, but quaint & right on the lake. A bellman is necessary, since we are all 3rd floor rooms and no elevator. But lake views. Dinner in the big dining room includes our waitress singing a song from Sound of Music to the accompanying piano of a full-time housekeeper. The morning reveals that lukewarm shower water makes for faster showers (must be an ecological strategy). Here’s a few photos to show you the place.

Small room. We put ALL 6 people’s bags in our room…for a while.

It was Louise Staffords birthday Sunday…she received an “original Patricia Boyd” painting…no waffles, though.

We meet Joe & Linda Franchini today (Monday) at 4 in Polebridge, Montana to go spend 3 nights at their remote home on 80 acres about 20 miles from town. We fly from Kalispell to home on Friday.

The weather has gone from warm for 2 weeks to chilly for the past 2 days…a light touch of rain…but NO snow here.

Maybe they have wifi.   We shall see…so long for now.

Some of my photos are stuck.
