Walking around Denver

We stayed at an old favorite- the Brown Palace – Saturday night. Drove over Berthoud Pass (11,300 feet) from Steamboat to Denver with another run-in with free range cattle.

The Boyd’s flew in from Philadelphia and the six of us walked 3-4 miles around town. The Capitol building was getting some re-gilding from a crew hanging from a crane about 150 feet high. The library’s architecture was spectacular alongside the Art Museum.

We ate at Union Station’s Mercantile and could hear big-band music throughout the meal. Those lights & fountains in the video showed hundreds of people dancing in the Station’s plaza.

Sunday’s flight to Rapid City produced a “first-ever” for all of us…we boarded the plane and got settled-in. The stewardess then announced that we were on the wrong plane; their mistake. So, we are now back in the terminal awaiting the delayed Rapid City flight. We had lunch here, so we can go right to Rushmore when we land.  No problem…friends surrounding us.
