Drew Delivery Day…Wednesday.

It was great to have Tim, the older brother, here…just to hang out with the gang.  He is in his third year at Western State Colorado University and has become a man as he has stayed out in Colorado most of the year (he worked with Mike in Steamboat one summer).

He had to leave this AM.  His lady-friend, Jessie, is taking a wilderness course this week and couldn’t come to meet the family.  Amy and Brock are headed down to Gunnison for a visit and will meet the lovely Jessie while they are there.

Mike brought a gift for his Mom…some new white-framed sunglasses (to replace the ones she lost).  On the side it says the brand – Leafly – which has something to do with the marijuana business.  Don’t tell her.

So, we get to the campus – 6 of us to deliver one kid – and the unloading and room-arranging begins in earnest.  We get a prime parking spot right outside of Cheyenne Arapaho Dorm.

But, first, we let the mother escort him to the sign-in table.

Then, we find the bin-kid, who helps us unload the car and push the gear to the first floor elevator.

The room looks terrific, since the roommate – Tyler Rizzuto – has been there for 24 hours with his parents, decorating and organizing.

Not only were Drew and Tyler bonding;  it was discovered that Tyler and Michael Brock are both accomplished photographers.  So, the two of them matched their “best shots” with one another.

Tyler shows Brock some of his “around-the-world” trip photos.  Brock shared some of his amazing motorcycle racing ones.

Brock also bought Drew a CU hat…thinking that if he didn’t like it then Brock would wear it as his own.  I think he liked it.

As we left the boy (turning into a man) in his dorm, we decided to find Louise Stafford’s 1959 freshman dorm room at Hallett Hall.

We did find the dorm, but they would let us upstairs to seem Room 278.  Drats.

All the while, as he was settling in his room, the rest of us wandered the halls and listened to the drummers practice right outside the dorm.

Anti-climatically, we retreat to the rental house and head out to dinner in town at “The Kitchen”…a fine dining experience with plenty of wine to calm our emotions.

This is the view right outside the dorm…up to the beginning of the foothills on the west end of Boulder.

We will try to find some new hikes, a couple of labyrinths that we want to explore and some more good meals.  All the while standing-by to see if Drew needs some help.

We leave here Saturday to go visit Mike, Sky & Eli in Steamboat Springs.
