Resiliency is outstanding!

So, the flooding is really historic…and the entire Avalon Waterways staff seems to have pitched in on re-routing the cruise, offering 50% discounts, if you continued and 100%, if you wanted to drop out…all-in-all an outstanding reaction.  Here’s a toast from our stateroom at Rouen to the Avalon staff.img_5272

So, we are on the boat in Rouen instead of Paris. Almost everything is still on the schedule except Monet’s gardens at Giverney, which are under water today.
Our bus ride from Paris to Rouen was less than two hours and

1…we were escorted onto the ship and

2…our bags in our stateroom,

3…safety drill conducted,

4…met the captain and staff,

5…had a “port talk” by Jean Loup – cruise director – about tomorrow’s tour of Joan of Arc’s town and

6…a fabulous dinner,

7…new friends met…

8…now back in the room by 9:15.

Bon Nuit.
