Tuesday dawns damp and cloudy, but we’re headed out anyway.

A full day of learning on campus and dinner in Westfield at Brazill’s on Main.

Morning worship service and another great sermon from Rev. Jim Walters on the connections with the Bible and the state of Europe.

Main speaker is a Brit who lives in Germany and represents monetary funds.  Great humor, history and predicts a shaky future for the Euro.  There should have been a political merger among countries before they did a common currency.

David Marsh is a Brit, who needed subtitles.

Lady speaker at 2PM is an expert at anti-Semitism, anti-Christianity and Islamophobia.  Has some ideas about cures for all of new hatred, but not easy solutions.  Likes programs where youth is brought together with their “others” for some understanding  different points of view and explore the amazing similarities in the three Abrahamic religiions.

Mideast update featured a speaker from Palestine.  Interesting perspective, but not much hope for any good negotiations now.  It is not going to rise to a top priority issue on the world stage anytime soon…he thinks it about #17 on the US list now.  Leaders are not the right people either.

Dinner at Brazill’s on Main.  We found this place through Sandy and David, our friends from Erie, a couple of years ago.  Great comfort food.  Westfield, NY (about 10 miles west, almost to Lake Erie) was the home of a 12-year old girl who wrote Lincoln that he’d be more successful if he grew a beard.  He stopped his train to give her a hug and show off his newly grown beard.  Great restaurant, too.  I’ll give you the photographic evidence when I can find the shots.
