Tuesday…it must be Siena.  Patricia’s favorite city.

Another weather wonder day – sunny and 80 again. We motored almost due west down a limited-access road…it has a number, but they never show them anywhere except on the maps. But with Craig “Sterling Moss” Boyd at the wheel, it’s a dream (except for maybe Butch, who drew the 3rd row seat assignment).

Some major sites to see here, plus some shop stops for pottery. Plus, the usual pause to refresh with cuisine and vino Rosso.

This is the famous Duomo. Very tall tower and same stripes as the duomo in Orvieto.
and here’s the huge tower, which looms over Il Campo…the giant aquare where they hold the famous horse race, called the Palio.

Patricia has a favorite ceramic-maker…all hand-made and painted items displayed in a tiny shop.  Nancy and Louise got into purchasing as well.

Here is a special sample of their work.

Then, the Boyds lead us down small byways to find another fine dining place.

We must do some Chianti Classico Riserva again to fill these glasses. Lots of choices.

A street artist works on his design on a Tuesday afternoon. His cup is filling with “grazie money”.

We will meet our friends, Joe and Linda Franchini, tonight at their hotel in Cortona before dining at Osteria del Teatro…a full report to follow tomorrow.

Bona Sera.
