The Boyds are in the house.

Craig and Patricia with Louise and Nancy

Fresh from a 2-day Rome visit and a drive up the A-1 highway to us just south of Cortona. The Roachs and Staffords welcomed the Saturday afternoon after Amy and Michael were whisked away to the Rome Hilton. Tim and Cindy were at the Poste Vecchio on the coast for their anniversary.

Dinner at the Villa was fixed by the Louise and Nancy duo and was delicious with local ingredients remaining from Camucia farmers market.

It’s Sunday now and we are about to dive into some Rosso in the sunshine on the upper level. Today we went down to near Montalcino in Tuscany with driver Craig taking the wheel away from Chip…no complaints here.

new transportation – Peugeot – parked at the entry

First stop, Pienza…finally.

the city is a tribute to Pope Pius 2, who built the palace on the right and church on the left

this is the family name and they had Pius the 3rd, too.
Lunch there, too, at a place the Staffords knew from previous visits.

Then, Patricia recommended that we go to hear the monks chant at Sant’Antimo.

way out in the countryside and exquiste architecture contribute to a sense of peace.
