Wednesday morning report

The Borgo welcomed us in their “entry hall”…a restored church from the 17th century.
The full day on Tuesday, wherein we had our new driver (not Chip; but Leonardo in a suit & tie). Plus a full itinerary of Assisi, Gubbio + dinner at the Borgo Di Carpiano.  So our bedtime after midnight causes a slow start today. Sunny & 80 forecast again…awesome good fortune in that category.

We loved the diary, War in Val D’Orsia, set in Tuscan countryside near Montepulciano in 1941-1944.  The 3,000 acre property was called La Foce. The Marchesa/author, Iris Origi’s daughters (our age now), are proprietors of this restored (& smaller) place. We go there after lunch at La Chuisa…a place recommended by our friends, Tom & Sandy Ehlers.

A tip for users…try clicking on a photo to enlarge them. You can then get back to the blog by using your “back button”, usually in the top left of your screen. Its especially useful for the map of our travels in one of the early posts.

I’m going to hose the dust off the van before we leave, so I’ll say “Bon giorno” for now.
