Between the hill towns of Montichiello & Pienza in Tuscany is this farm run by a Swiss couple. They have sheep, goats, gardens, pigs, donkeys, bees, campgrounds, a restaurant, wifi and a big cheese-making business…the cheese may be their best product (for them and for us). We had lunch overlooking that view (group photo from yesterday).
Ulyssa and Sandra work year-round here. They are both gregarious and very accomplished tour-givers as well as hard-working farmers.
First, they served a salad course…a make-it-yourself version with fresh everything plus sauces they made, too.
Then the cheese tray (seen above)…and wine of course…wine made from their grapes.
We headed home to the Villa for a cooked-by-the-inmates dinner.
Sunday to Orvieto, a larger hill town in Umbria…back toward Rome.
