Pre-trip info…weather and the master map

We found a new, favorite site for weather…www.weatherunderground.com.

With all of the planning, we can never be sure of this element.

But, at this point, it is nice to contemplate…look.  Highs in the mid-70’s/lows in mid-50’s.

"All the best"
“All the best”

And, here’s the pre-planning map.

Mountains, lakes, valleys, hill towns...we'll see it all. Wineries, restaurants...we'll taste it all, too.

Rome’s at the bottom, Umbria to the right/Tuscany to the left.  We are going to be flexible when the Boyds join us for Week Two and maybe we’ll get to the Adriatic Coast near the upper right hand corner there…but, it’s 2.5 hours and 110 miles away.  That’s Craig Boyd-type driving, methinks.  (He’s the teetotaler, who’s wife, Patricia, speaks fluent Italian).

And, some of you have added suggestions already – mostly about wineries (tells you what kind of folks we hang with… aficionados, we call you) – but we can use any ideas you have.  Email them to chiproach@aol.com or comment here.

Ciao for now.

    • Krissy…you would love the story of his “friendship” with Saint Clare…and her Basilica (c. 1260) is a wondrous place in Assisi, too. She founded an order of nuns (the Poor Clares), reminding me of your Sisters of the Holy Child and Cornelia Connelly.
