More Tim goes to Western State

17 August 2013, Saturday we all gathered at various times to the house at 42 Earhart in Crested Butte. The development has an airstrip down its middle, which caused a couple of surprises when the little 2-engine plane landed right before the Ultalight sputtered to a smooth landing just after.

The house sleeps 9 comfortably and faces the back of the ski mountain…so we are looking at the Crested Butte.

Our neighbors are 5 horses…they have that view, too.
Morning hiking, biking and running ensue while we await the man of the hour & Amy & Telly to come in the big Suburban from their overnight provisioning in Denver. A quick lunch visit to downtown Crested Butte is also on the agenda.

We ate at the Sunflower – fresh food (except for the sinful crusted pickles) and Eli bought a new hat…great design and a self-portrait. I should mention that Eli also concocted a delicious brownie dessert, accompanied by fresh-cut fruit the night before.

When Butch & Louise arrive, they pull out the biggest surprise – a double Magnum (a Jeroboam) of our lifetime favorite wine…Brunello di Montalcino.

Tim arrives & Eli jumps for joy.

Lounging on the giant deck & games at the picnic table ensue.
